Engineered by the expertise of some of NIGHTs best and brightest Astrophysicists and Quantum Engineers, the Epsilon Theta Device is a revolutionary but unpredictable space-travel device that comes standard in all Shadow Spark and Shadow Flame class NIGHT ships.
The Epsilon Theta Device works by tapping into the quantum wormholes that sporadically link all reaches of the universe together following the irregular curves of the space-time continuum. The device first taps into a quantum wormhole, then alters its sub-atomic signature, directing it towards the chosen destination. It also expands the wormhole to the size of the devices Epsilon Field (The field that moulds itself to the shape of the intergalactic vehicle.) Once the ship enters the wormhole, it re-shrinks the entrance to the wormhole, stopping the entrance of space debris. When the ship exits, it repeats this process with the exit hole.
Following the Quantum Laws, this wormhole doesn't link the two locations in a straight line. Instead, it follows the curves of the space-time continuum. This means the journey's length differs irregularly depending on the two locations, with some taking a mere half an Earth second, and some reaching the highest recorded time of just under three months.
Theta Seconds are the time it takes to traverse the wormhole as it is impossible to measure distance inside it due to the quirks of the space-time continuum.
Common Travel Distances:
Post the Theta Seconds between common travel routes below and I'll add them to the list.
